The OA-700 is a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 access point, and the design decision that defines it is the uplink. A Wi-Fi 7 AP with three radios can produce far more than a gigabit of real traffic, so terminating it on a 1GbE port would throw that capacity away at the wall plate. The OA-700 uses a 5GbE uplink — matched to the OP-1600’s 2.5G+ access ports or a dedicated multi-gig run — so the bottleneck stays in the air, where it belongs, and not in the cable.

The radios are 2×2 on 2.4 GHz, 4×4 on 5 GHz, and 4×4 on 6 GHz, all operating simultaneously, for an aggregate PHY rate of 18.7 Gbps. The 6 GHz band runs 320 MHz channels — twice the width of Wi-Fi 6E — and the full 802.11be feature set is present: Multi-Link Operation to bond bands for lower latency, 4K-QAM for higher per-symbol throughput at close range, OFDMA and MU-MIMO for dense client counts, and BSS coloring to reduce co-channel interference in a tight AP grid. Published rates are PHY rates; real throughput depends on client capability, distance, and spectrum, and we will not quote you a marketing number that ignores that.

Security is the enterprise set — WPA3-Enterprise with 802.1X, WPA3-Personal, and OWE for open networks that still want encryption — across up to 16 SSIDs, each tagged to its own VLAN. The enclosure is sealed and fanless, rated -20 °C to 55 °C for sheltered-outdoor and cold-warehouse installs.

What’s in the box: OA-700 access point, ceiling T-bar mounting bracket, wall/junction-box plate, security screw and tool, and a self-adhesive mounting template. Power is 802.3bt Type 3 PoE-in from an OP-1600 or any compliant switch port; a 48V injector is available separately for sites without PoE. No console cable is included — the AP is adopted and managed through the OKTET controller or REST API.
