Limited Hardware Warranty
UPDATED 30 APR 2026
OKTET warrants its hardware against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for the warranty period stated below. This warranty is provided to the original purchaser and is not transferable except as required by law. It sets out the full extent of our warranty obligations and the exclusive remedy available to you.
Coverage Period
- Switches and routers (OS and OR series): five (5) years from the date of original purchase.
- Access points (OA series): five (5) years from the date of original purchase.
- Optics, transceivers, and passive accessories (OF series and cabling): the lifetime of the host product, or five (5) years, whichever is shorter.
- Power supplies and fans used in the above products: three (3) years.
The warranty period runs from the original invoice date. Repaired or replaced units are warranted for the remainder of the original period or ninety (90) days, whichever is longer.
What Is Covered
If a covered product proves defective during the warranty period, OKTET will, at its option and as your exclusive remedy, repair the product, replace it with a new or refurbished unit of equal or better specification, or refund the purchase price. Replacement units may use serviceable parts equivalent to new in performance and reliability.
What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by: accident, misuse, abuse, or operation outside the published environmental and electrical specifications; improper installation, modification, or repair by anyone other than OKTET or an authorized partner; power surges, lightning, fire, flood, or other external events; normal wear of consumable parts; cosmetic damage that does not affect function; or use of the product with incompatible third-party equipment where that incompatibility is the cause of failure. Products with removed, altered, or unreadable serial numbers are not covered.
RMA Process
- Open a case. Contact OKTET support with the product model, serial number, proof of purchase, and a description of the fault. Our team will work with you to confirm the issue is a hardware defect rather than a configuration matter.
- Receive an RMA number. If the case qualifies, we issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Returns sent without a valid RMA number cannot be processed.
- Ship the unit. Pack the product securely, ideally in its original packaging, and mark the RMA number clearly on the outside. You are responsible for shipping the defective unit to us; we cover return shipping of the repaired or replacement unit to addresses within the supported region.
- Advance replacement. For business accounts with eligible products, we can ship a replacement before receiving the defective unit, subject to a hold or purchase order; the defective unit must be returned within the period stated on the RMA, or the replacement will be invoiced.
Disclaimer and Limitation
To the fullest extent permitted by law, this limited warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, which are disclaimed except where they cannot be excluded under applicable law. OKTET’s total liability under this warranty is limited to the remedies stated above and will not exceed the price paid for the affected product. OKTET is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data, downtime, or lost profits. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights under local law.
