Marcus grew up watching wildlife from his family's farm on the edge of the Masai Mara. He trained as a wildlife biologist before becoming a guide, and that scientific foundation shows — he reads a landscape the way others read a map. Twelve years of professional guiding across Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia. He speaks six languages including Swahili, Maa, and Kikuyu.

Rajan was born in Namche Bazaar, the same village that has sent more mountaineers to the summit of Everest than any other place on earth. He holds an advanced trekking guide certification from the Nepal Mountaineering Association and has guided the Khumbu region for eighteen years. He has summited Island Peak fourteen times and carries the route knowledge of someone who has walked every trail in every season.
