Johan Eriksen spent his career before SCRYER in places that do not appear on his public biography. What can be confirmed is that he served as an intelligence officer at the Norwegian Intelligence Service and as a NATO CCDCOE liaison, two roles that placed him at the center of Northern and Eastern European intelligence coordination at a period of particular consequence.
He built and now runs SCRYER's human-source network across Northern and Eastern Europe, a network whose existence is acknowledged only in the most general terms. His 2025 publication "Source Triangulation in the Open-Source Era" is notable for being both technically precise and entirely unsurprising in its conclusions, a reliable sign that the most sensitive observations were held back.
At SCRYER, Johan leads the Source Operations practice. He is quiet, methodical, and very rarely wrong. The analysts who have worked alongside him note that he has a particular gift for distinguishing between what the intelligence says and what the intelligence means, a distinction that, in his field, is everything.
“The most reliable intelligence still comes from people, not packets. OSINT confirms; human sources clarify.”
