Approach
Five steps,
one discipline.
01
Listen to the site
Before a line is drawn we spend time on the ground, with the light, the neighbours, and whatever is already standing. The site usually knows the answer.
02
Draw the daylight
Every project starts as a daylight study. We model the sun across the year first, then place the rooms where the light already wants to be.
03
Choose the material
One or two materials, honestly used. Board-formed concrete, rammed earth, reclaimed timber, things that age into themselves rather than out of fashion.
04
Keep what we can
The greenest building is the one already standing. We keep frames, reuse structure, and make every new addition reversible for whoever comes next.
05
Build to last
We detail for fifty years, not for the photograph. Then we stay through construction, because a drawing is only a promise until it is poured.
