Color Psychology in Brand Design

Your color palette communicates before a single word is read. Color psychology is not new, but its application in digital brand design has evolved significantly.

The 70-20-10 rule remains the foundation: 70% dominant background, 20% secondary, 10% accent. The accent color is your brand's punctuation mark — use it sparingly and it becomes powerful.

Beyond the Basics

The real skill is in tension. A warm accent on a cool background creates visual friction that draws the eye. An unexpected color in a restrained palette signals confidence. The pairing matters more than the individual colors.
