Senior AI Engineer

$160K–$220K + equity

What You’ll Work On

You’ll be a primary contributor to the systems that make KAIRO agents actually work in production. This includes:

  • Context Engine — retrieval pipelines, embedding infrastructure, cross-document reference resolution, real-time index updates
  • Action Runtime — the execution layer that translates agent decisions into system calls, API requests, and database operations
  • Reliability systems — retry logic, failure recovery, circuit breakers, and observability tooling for long-running agent workflows

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 4+ years of backend engineering experience, 2+ years working on ML/AI systems in production
  • Deep experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, or similar)
  • Strong Python skills; TypeScript/Node.js a plus
  • Production experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini)
  • Ability to reason about cost and latency tradeoffs at scale

Nice to have:

  • Experience building agentic systems (LangGraph, AutoGen, or custom implementations)
  • Knowledge of distributed systems patterns (queues, event sourcing, CQRS)
  • Experience with SOC 2 / HIPAA compliance engineering

Interview Process

  1. 30-minute intro call with engineering lead
  2. Technical screen (90 min) — system design + take-home
  3. Final round — 3 hours, meets 4 team members
  4. Offer within 5 business days
