Documentary portrait series of artists in the African diaspora, shot across Lagos, London, and Amsterdam. 14 portraits over 6 weeks.

This project began as a conversation. Diaspora Arts Collective wanted to map the creative output of artists scattered across three continents, connected by origin but separated by geography. The question was not where they came from, but where they were going.

Each sitting lasted between two and four hours. We talked first, photographed second. The resulting portraits carry the weight of those conversations — not posed, not candid, but somewhere in between. The look of someone who has just finished telling you something true.
