Building a Fashion Photography Portfolio from Zero

I started shooting fashion with a Canon EOS 300D that I borrowed from my university's equipment room. The first editorial I shot was for a student magazine in Gothenburg. The model was my roommate's girlfriend. The location was a parking structure.

Start With What You Have

The camera matters less than you think. What matters is your eye — your ability to see a frame before the shutter opens. Develop this by looking at photography constantly. Not Instagram photography. Book photography.
